Is it OK to use a product which has shampoo and conditioner together?

As a licensed cosmetologist, I would have to say there is nothing wrong with using an all-in-one shampoo/conditioner product. The only time I really would not recommend this certain type of product is for clients that have really long hair because I find the all-in-one doesn't give enough conditioning for the long hair.

Other than that I'd say your good to go!!Is it OK to use a product which has shampoo and conditioner together?
yeah its okay to use it but i feel like it still doesn't work as well as using a separate shampoo and separate conditioner. Is it OK to use a product which has shampoo and conditioner together?
I prefer haveing then seperate.

When its together it doesn't feel like it doing the job

For women with curly red hair... what kind of shampoo and conditioner do you use and why?

What other styling products would you recommend? What wouldn't you recommend? For women with curly red hair... what kind of shampoo and conditioner do you use and why?
I use Vibrance shampoo and conditioner and Iso styling products. The shampoo gives me clean hair without creating frizz, and the conditioner really moisturizes without weighing my hair down.

I don't reccomend hairspray on curls. You end up with a mat of gross. Mousse is much better.

  • What kind of shampoo do I need to use on a black lab puppy to get her fur to shine?

It's not usually a question of what shampoo...but diet.

You want to feed her food that's going to promote a healthy coat and skin. Feed her the highest quality food you can afford...One that does NOT contain wheat, corn or soy. Those three things aren't good for your dog's coat or skin. Add an Omega 3 fatty acid (like a fish oil supplement) to her food.

Within 2 weeks you will notice that her fur is softer and shinier.

When you do bath her you want to make sure the shampoo isn't too harsh, and you don't want to bath too often. Over bathing isn't healthy for the coat or skin.

You also want to brush a short haired dog at least every couple days to help get rid of any dirt and loose fur...and to use the natural oils that skin produces to coat the fur. What kind of shampoo do I need to use on a black lab puppy to get her fur to shine?
BioGroom has an excellent line of shampoos and conditioners for dogs and cats. I've tried all different brands and this is the best. They have an Ultra Black shampoo for dogs. However, I would just use the Puppy shampoo because it is more mild for your pup. I think, that it is available at Petco or Petsmart, but I'm not sure because I hate going there so I never do except for a once in a blue moon.

The key to shiny coat is not really bathing them, it's their food. They need a very high quality food. Like Innova, or Canidae.

The websites are below, Check em out. What kind of shampoo do I need to use on a black lab puppy to get her fur to shine?
shampoo won't decide if the coat is shiny, just good food will do that, feed a low to no grain kibble, check out www.dogfoodanalysis.com for more info on foods, keep bathing to a minimum, dilute whatever shampoo you use, I like baby shampoo, and use cool water for best results.

good luck and have fun with your pup
no matter what shampoo you use make sure you don't wash her too often.. maybe once a month is good. Labs have a special oily coat that will get damaged if you wash them too much.

and make sure you feed her a good quality food
Lots of brushing and good nutrition is going to really get your dog to have a shiny coat. For shampoo, you should use an oatmeal, soap free version to moisterize the lab's often dry skin and to not wash off flea preventative medication.
I have been told if you put a little veg oil in there food it's good for their coat, otherwise I have always loved Oatmeal Shampoo it really good! Also ask a groomer what they suggest. Good Luck!
    I like liquid shampoos, not bar soap ones. They have many varieties at the store to choose from. Look for the one that says ';shiny coat';
I have a black lab/collie cross and i use bob martins mild shampoo and it smells good and leaves her coat nice and shiny
    I have heard that

PetGuard and Pet Promise sell lines of natural grooming products good for dogs.

Is there a shampoo or something that will turn my hair light blonde?

not for a long time, like wash out stuff. it has to be light blonde though..can i get it at target? how much money, and is it bad for you're hair?Is there a shampoo or something that will turn my hair light blonde?
Try John Fredia Sheer blonde- it lightens your hair and brings out your natural highlights

    Walmart or Target around $5.00

It's really gentle, but if you want to test it first you can get a small tube of it in the sample isle for $1.50Is there a shampoo or something that will turn my hair light blonde?
There is no way to temporarily lighten hair. When you lighten hair, you are removing pigment, and the only way to put it back is with dye. You will never get your original pigment back into the hair shaft again. (Naturally, however, new hair growth - i.e., roots - will be your original color.)
There is this shampoo at Target that should work for you, I don't know what it is, but they have the same thing for brunettes and red heads.

Well, it won't turn your hair blonde, but it will lighten your hair, to a shade that is closer to blonde. It is not dye, it is just a shampoo that is meant for people who dye their blonde and want the color to stay enriched and looking healthy. Yea, I have seen it at Target, it's about $12 in all, for the shampoo and conditioner. It's not bad for your hair, it's actually pretty good for your hair, it has lots of vitamins in it.
not shampoo but some loreal coloring moose will work. it washes out and i use it alot. also it wont damage ur hair like dye

Can someone please help me out with good cologne, shampoo, ect?

I'd really like to know some good deodorant, shampoo, cologne, and conditioner brands. I'm 14, and I've just been using whatever my mom gets me basically. Which is some basic shampoo thing and axe.Can someone please help me out with good cologne, shampoo, ect?
For cologne definatley anything by Hugo Boss, my boyfriend has quite a few of those and they're like....words cannot describe. Lacoste also has some good cologne's. for deodorant, if you buy a pack with cologne, it usually comes with deodorant, or aftershave. You should a wear a matching deodorant to your cologne to make it last longer. For shampoo, and conditoner, that doesn't matter so much as long as it smells nice. It doesn't have to be super expensive. I really like the smell of Jonh Freida's shampoo's. I use brilliant brunette. Hope that helps. cheers

-erinCan someone please help me out with good cologne, shampoo, ect?
For cologne, dolce and gabana! Deffinitelly!! Nivea makes a mens shampoo and conditioner, and they have really good products. And deoderant just use a clear speedstick!
    no axe it smells cheap

    =(
deodorant doesnt matter too much, i use old spice its pretty good, cologne i would go with this stuff called mustang its really good smelling, shampoo i would use head n shoulders and the conditioner h n s
I suggest you go to Macy's and ask the lady in the fragrance department to assist you in picking out a fragrance for you. They are very good. Plus when you purchase your new fragrance, they will give you free samples of other fragrance's to try.
    deoderant : addidas or axe

Shampoo : Loreal vive for men, its in a black bottle with a little bit of red

conditioner : same as shampoo, to match

Cologne : puma for men or daytona 500

I have life bad and i cannot afford the shampoo for it?

    Hi im really poor!

    and i have lice (bad)

and i DO NOT want to shave my head!

    because graduation is soon!

    like really soon!

and i wasn't them gone i cannot stand them!I have life bad and i cannot afford the shampoo for it?
then put up with it till graduation, then shave your head.I have life bad and i cannot afford the shampoo for it?
there's combs to get rid of lice, they are really fine toothed. gotta comb everyday till it's gone.

that's how i got rid of mine... the shampoo did not work (twice.)
are you a kid? maybe you can get a job in some place..how much is the shampoo?

Does Garnier Fructis shampoo and conditioner for dry hair work?

i have dry hair. can you please help me?Does Garnier Fructis shampoo and conditioner for dry hair work?
Garnier has a great product line. I swear by the hair color..it's awesome. Just be sure you pick out the products that are specifically made for dry hair and viola...you'll probably fall in love with them and the price. Have fun!!Does Garnier Fructis shampoo and conditioner for dry hair work?
different shampoos and conditioners work for different hair, tryi it see how ti tworks for u if it dont work try another shampoo for dry hair
It does for me. Remember to leave the conditioner on for 2-3 minutes and also apply a leave-in conditioner to damp hair once your out of the shower.
YEAH IT WORKS. U KNOW THERE IS THE NEW LONG AND STRONG SHAMPOO. and the garnier ultra doux conditioner. it works. but my tip is that the previous night message a little oil on ur head. then ur hair will not become dry and rough after shampoo.
personally i would try dove renewal shampoos or tresseme-- those are the best shampoos i've used and my hair is incredibly dry and damaged.
It works AWESOME!!!! it really helped me get more mostiure into my hair and it helped it stay that way too.
Garnier Fructis is great (I love their 3 minute hair deep conditioner), but why don't you try Dove for Dry/Damaged hair. The conditioner is really really thick - and anyone with dry hair knows... the thicker the conditioner - the better!

PS - if you have dry hair, try your best to air dry. Heat sucks the moisture out of hair.

  • What happens if you put a relaxer in your hair and you've used anti-dandruff shampoo the night before?

I used an ';Africa's Best'; relaxer and I used Selsem Blue the night before, and on the box it says do not use anti-dandruff shampoo 2day before or after relaxer. What will happen? What happens if you put a relaxer in your hair and you've used anti-dandruff shampoo the night before?
You aren't supposed to wash hair at all 2 days before a relaxer. Since you used an anti-dandruff shampoo the night before, you risk having some major scalp irritation since anti-dandruff shampoo is fairly abrasive. However, you would probably feel the irritation already if it were going to happen.

In the future, read the directions before you relax your hair. You may not be so lucky next time. What happens if you put a relaxer in your hair and you've used anti-dandruff shampoo the night before?
It might aggravate your hair and cause burns. Please look over the instructions and follow them, unless you want to have severe scalp burns and need to go to the ER.

Suggest a mild shampoo & conditioner for daily hair-wash?

I have short, wavy, thin hair. It gets oily very easily. So, i usually wash it daily with a small quantity of shampoo %26amp; conditioner. Since i am washing it daily, can anyone suggest a very mild (but good) shampoo %26amp; conditioner? Also, i use the ';Neutrogena triple-moisture leave-in conditioner'; after hair-wash. Should I continue doing this daily?

    Thanks.Suggest a mild shampoo %26amp; conditioner for daily hair-wash?
I have Oily hair also, so I use a shampoo and conditioner that is going to give me some volume, if you have a sally 's near you they are very reasonable for prices and they sell generic matrix, Paul mitchell, Biologe hair products with the same ingredients.

I would stop using the Neutrogena triple moisture conditioner, I have tried it and I think it weighs my hair down and only makes it more greasySuggest a mild shampoo %26amp; conditioner for daily hair-wash?
    Suave.

It's between 87 cents and $1.19 at Walmart and other stores.

You can't beat it. I'm serious. This deal cannot be beaten.

Whats a good shampoo and conditioner for puffy hair?

see after my gets dry after showering it gets puffy and frizzy.

can someone give me a good shampoo and conditioner that will prevent or disguise it?Whats a good shampoo and conditioner for puffy hair?
Apparently Paul Mitchell's Tea Tree collection. Pierce Brosnan uses it too.

Seriously though, the best thing for frizzy hair is to live in a more humid environment. My hair (too thin now to grow long and look decent) looked great full of curls and such in NC, until I moved to Colorado. It was even worse in Antarctica. Now in California, the curls cling together better, but the hair is not thick enough to grow long enough to have decent curls.

One workaround I found in Colorado: use a little leave-in conditioner. Then gel it some *while it is wet* then put it more or less where I wanted it. As it dried on its own (NO BLOW DRYING) it would curl up and look pretty good. If I touched it much or brushed it after ti dried though, game over.

A little bit of gel while wet, then let it dry naturally. You can touch it up a little as it dries, just take care not to mess with it once it IS dry. You might have to experiment to find the cutoff point. Mousse did not work as well as gel. Good luck!Whats a good shampoo and conditioner for puffy hair?
    dove !
SunSilk Anti-Poof shampoo and conditioner. Also you can get the 24/7 creme that goes with it, that you can use on damp or dry hair. It has been working really well for me. Just make sure to use a comb after you get out of the shower. Good Luck
extra body shampoo and conditioners it is $25 at salons and $39 at the store
well i don't know about shampoo because it never work for me i use conditioner vo5 why don't you just thin your hair out it work for me
Fructis, Sleek and Shine. Its smells fruity and works well with my puffy hair :o)
Use pantene pro-v or fructise, both are really good hair tamers. And also use this leave in conditioner from Sun Silk, its the blue bottle and its meant for poofy hair. Its works really well!
    i use the green one...Garniere frootes...something like that...hope i helped
u just gotta keep trying different brands to see wut works good for u. and u gotta switch back and forth, so ur hair dont get use to it. i know cuz i got thick hair
use sleek and smooth shampoo and a moisturizing conditioner
    paul mitchell shampoos and conditioners
try something made for frizzy hair like a smoothing shampoo or dont use conditioner in the shower just use a spray on after u get out
Yea, try Paul Mitchell. Choose the ';Straight %26amp; Sleek'; type. Good luck!
puffy shampoo and conditioner of corse!!
Head and shoulders shampoo and egg and beer conditioner...it works everytime......and is not costing you an arm and leg....make it yourself...leave conditioner on for 15 minutes and rinse well. 1 beer and 2 eggs beat well and drizzle and rub....ok???
    AUSSIE!

I need a shampoo that really cleans my hair, What should I use?

my hair is thick, and i really need something that will make it clean. i am usine loreal vive pro shampoo, and i like it, but it doesnt clean well enough. I am using panteene always smooth conditioner. i love that combonation, but with the weather changeing it doesn't help my hair a whole lot.

what type of shampoo will really clean my hair out?

    thanks,

RachelI need a shampoo that really cleans my hair, What should I use?
Head and Shoulders or anything that is comparable to it. I swear to god, it works, isn' t too expensive, and leaves your hair smelling clean and fresh. I've found that if you stick with the more simplistic brands, you get better results. I tried using Garnier or whatever it's called and I found that when I blowdry my hair, it makes my scalp extra moist and gives me a scalp odor. I'm not sure about the one you're using, but I know Head and Shoulders works.

(Also is an Anti-dandruff shampoo! And usually has conditioner in it, too.)I need a shampoo that really cleans my hair, What should I use?
Head and Shoulders that's my recommendation or Pantene
TRESemme shampoo and conditioner work for me and i have quite thick hair. Also try not to change your shampoo because it can damage your hair but a change every now and then is good for your hair. And using conditioner every wash keeps your hair soft, shiny and stronger: )
    Hey,

Use any clarifying shampoo to really deep clean your hair because it removes any hair products that you have used and any kind of buildup. Most shampoo companies make a clarifying shampoo from Suave to professional salon product companies. Just be sure not to use clarifying shampoos too much because they can end up stripping your hair.

p.s. any shampoo should be able to clean your hair well with warm enough water and enough lathering

Hope this helps. I posted a link from Walgreen's website of a list of clarifying shampoos.
johnathan shampoo %26amp; conditioner you can buy it at sephora.com or the store, it works really good and all kinds of hair, i love it!, but it's around 20 dollars for each bottle but i think it's worth it every once in a while, and it wont dry out your hair or anything oh and its vegan and isnt tested on animals =)
I use Herbal Essences 2 in 1, and i wash it twice. So i wash it once, rinse it and repeat, and it works great
i think pretty much any type of shampoo would work.....maybe it's the way you wash your hair
herbal essences is good. i used loreal and after a while it felt like it wasn't cleaning my hair properly, it actually felt greasier after i had used it. but herbal essences is good, i used to use it for ages and it always left my hair looking clean and nice.

  • Can you Shampoo&condition your hair if you have 8 inch twisties?

my Boyfriend been growing hair with twist for 2 years now

can he wash his hair without pulling out the twist

He has real Curly hairCan you Shampoo%26amp;condition your hair if you have 8 inch twisties?
He can take some witch hazel or other kind of shampoo on a wash clothe and clean the scalp between the twists yes. Also get a squirt bottle to rinse the shampoo away. Tell him he should do his best to avoid getting water on his twists since this will cuase them to fuzz or even loc up. The book Plaited Glory by Lonnice Bonner has better instructions.

But he might want to rethink not taking the twists out to wash them unless he wants to start cultivating dreads. I know in my coily hair I can only leave twists in for 3 weeks before they begin to loc. It may take him w few hours to untwist, detangle and shampoo but that is the price you pay for a relatively low maintenance hair style otherwise and keeping your hair from dreading together.

As for conditioning that is a lot easier. Just take some oil or conditioner and rub between your palms and press your palms into yout twists without rubbing. Rubbing cuases frizz, you just want to dab.

Hope that helped! Can you Shampoo%26amp;condition your hair if you have 8 inch twisties?
Of course, I use to work with this lady who had locks and she use to pay me to wash and re-twist her new growth. It's like washing your reg. hair plus with two years without him washing his hair, I'm pretty sure you're tired of it smelling. :)
haha i thought 8 inch twisties were something else
they make a certian type of shampoo for this... you can get it at a beauty supply store. its no rinse
yes he can just make sure he washs it out reallly goodd

dear...dandruff are the dead skin of you head. It becomes dead cause of lack of moistures.

Best solution is to avoid coffee and cokes like stuff, take water , juices excessively...try to avoid heavy food intakes .... the long lasting solution.

Shampoo is not the solution for dandruff. It just removes dead skin parts , not moisturizes the same.
    Scalpicin
    hey ya..

the best tat u can do is wash ur hair every day... do not share combs and comb it frequently....
A herbal rinse is a safe method of removing dandruff. Apply lemon juice with the rind on the scalp .After 5 minutes wash off with shampoo and water. More simple remedies for dandruff at http://usefulinfo-dandruff.blogspot.com/
I just went back in time to Custer's last stand. No problems with hair cuts either.

Is it ok to use different brands of shampoo & conditioner?

...because on the back of each bottle it claims the product will work best if used with the matching shampoo or conditioner. im just wondering if i used an anti-dandruff shampoo then a damage repairing conditioner would they still work as well in solving my hair problems??Is it ok to use different brands of shampoo %26amp; conditioner?
The recommendations on the back are just a marketing ploy.

The only issue you might have with using different brands is sent mixing. And thats not really a problem just a preference.

I use a volumizing shampoo from Pureology and a repairing conditioner from L'oreal Professional. They really don't smell that great together but the combo is the best for my hair...

That combo should be great for your hair. It sounds like you need all the moisture you can suck up :)Is it ok to use different brands of shampoo %26amp; conditioner?
yea, it's totally fine. it doesn't really matter a lot though, if u can, of course u should buy the matching brand, but if u can't, then don't worry about it. some brands want to make moneyy. hope i helped! =]
    Yes it is ok.
It's OK but it better works if they are the same brand
yes i do and my hair got longer
    pah yea

they just want u to buy THEIR product

I have my hair died brown will brunett shampoo make it browner?

every time i get my hair dyed my hair isnt as brown as i would want it to be. so whould a brunett shampoo make it even browner. if you know plese answer!!I have my hair died brown will brunett shampoo make it browner?
no it will only keep the color in a lil longer if you want to make it browner then color it but if u just colored it put a ot oil treatment in your hair first so it doesn't mess ur hair upI have my hair died brown will brunett shampoo make it browner?
All the shampoo's do is keep your brunette hair stay shiny and keep the color from fading. If you want it darker you will have to dye your hair again
no it will only keep the color in longer!
no brunette shampoo will only seal in the color to make it last longer and boost your hair's shine. it won't change or alter the color of your hair in any way, only protect the dye :)

  • Should I buy salon products or store bought shampoo and conditioner?

A hairdresser told me store bought products aren't good for your hair and I should only use Salon products. She suggested buying them on ebay so I don't think she was trying to sell me something but I'm not sure. Do professionals really never use store bought products?Should I buy salon products or store bought shampoo and conditioner?
wash your hair with water shampoos do nothing but remove essentil oils from your hair!Should I buy salon products or store bought shampoo and conditioner?
i know they do bc my friends mom is a hair dresser, they just try to make more money for the saloon so i would buy store ones Good Luck!
As a professional I can honestly say I would never use store bought products. It is not that they are any good, it is just that you have to use so very much of them to equal the small dab of professional. The main difference between the two types of products is water. Store products have at least 75% more water in them than salon products. The next biggest difference is in the preservatives. A salon product is only good for 2 years (at best and only under the right conditions). I think a store product will last for decades. If your hair is healthy, never gets abused, then by all means use a store product. If your hair is damaged, color treated, chemically treated, or worse, use a salon product. It will save you money and preserve your hair.

    Good luck.
Honestly there isn't that much of a difference. Compare ingredients on the back and just keep trying different store brand products until you find one that works really well for YOU.

I've had the best of luck with the Aussie brand shampoos, especially the ';Roots And Tips'; for people that need extra cleaning at the roots but conditioning at the tips.

Never had ANY luck with the ultra cheapies, like Mane N Tail, Suave, VO5. But I do like the Aussie stuff.
Salon products are usually to strong for your hair.

The reason why more and more shampoos are released for ';dry or damaged hair'; is because they wanna target customers like you.

So why go for something else when you have great alternatives all around you?

Hope you have a good hair day. =D
My Aunt is a hairstylist and she only buys salon products, I do suggest getting salon products just because the quality is a lot better then those bought in supermarkets, wal*mart etc. Your hair stays stronger and shiny-errr! And their is no residue left in your hair.
    They lie.

Where do you think the ';salon products'; are made??

Yes, she's trying to make her sales, even if she suggested Ebay.

Would you rather just buy it THERE, or go online, place a bid, hope you win, pay for shipping, and WAIT for it to arrive?

    ***** EDIT ADD IN *****

I see the above answers are NO HELP at all...

Here, let me ask you, what kind of hair do you have? What kind of treatments do you have done? (Perms, dyes, curls, natural...) Also, what do YOU like to do to your hair? Are you a wash-and-go kind of person? Or 30 minutes to style kinda person?

You can email, or post it here, I'll answer either way.

    :o)
You got to be kidding,I used store bought and salon products and ALL my hair fell out... There both good ???
    i like both

my faves- salon(biolage matrix and nexus)

    - store(heand and shoulders

i would mix 3/4 matrix wit 1/4 head and shoulders it leaves ure hair feeling great and smells great too!
store boughten products leave a waxy build up on the hair and is very hard to remove. i tell my clients that the shampoo and cond is the most important product used on your hair. me personally i would not buy professional product on eBay. and no i never even walk down the isle of products at a store.

Is it wise to leave head and shoulders shampoo in my hair overnight to fade dyed black hair?

No it's a bad idea. Head and shoulders can burn delicate skin if you leave it on.Is it wise to leave head and shoulders shampoo in my hair overnight to fade dyed black hair?

What shampoo can make greasy hair stay soft and silky for more than 2 days?

Biolage, definitely. You just have to make sure you lather it well all the way to the roots if you have really thick hair. Its a tad pricey at about $17 but its worth it.

But my best guess to your greasy hair is that your not washing it well enough, try using your regular shampoo one more time and wash your hair really well and see if its better. What shampoo can make greasy hair stay soft and silky for more than 2 days?
ew u need to wash ur hair more often than that! What shampoo can make greasy hair stay soft and silky for more than 2 days?
    SHOWER!!!!

and use dove advanced care shampoo and conditiner
Pantene Pro V works really well for me, but 2 days is typically tops for anyone I know. Besides, after two days your body starts to smell.
honestly hun, nothing but i nice shower can keep your hair soft, and silky. If you don't want greasy hair, wash it.

    sorry to be so harsh.
you need to wash your hair more often than that! sorry : )

garnier fructis works great! i use it : )
biolage normalizing shampoo, plus when you are applying your styling products don't apply them near you roots. also don't play w/ your hair or run your fingers thru your hair this will make your hair greasier quicker.
Suave Clarifying Shampoo, or you can probably get some hairapy shampoo, which might be expensive.

You could try using a shampoo that has also a conditioner or a cream ..... or try Head%26amp;Shoulders
tresseme - the one which adds volume
you should try lorel vive pro nutri gloss system if you rather have it soft!! it has Pearl extracts to give it shine and cashmere touch!! it's in a light pink bottle. but if you want volume and body try loreal's style and body products and it's in a hot pink bottle!! hope i helped.

Professional products (NOT SWAVE, Pantene has ingredents to make blonds go brassy, white rain leaves a film on the hair especially their hair sprays)

all the ones that are being listed have high levels of detergent in them. which will fade color and be drying to the hair.

I love redken. Color Extend Condition is amazing at leaving hair silky smooth in the fastest amount of time. and you dont need to have colored hair to use it.
herbal essences have an amazing product line...they have a new shampoo and conditner (i thiknk its earbel essences) and they have 3 natural oils in it...shea. olive (amazing for your hair) and one other thing...just check into erabel essences. amazing shampoos and conditioner...tjey literally have a set for volume, mositure, healthy, vitams anything you want! aussie does too.! lol try those 2!
Hydralicious is amazing. I have long, thick hair that's down to my butt. I always had problems with frizzy and wirey looking hair. I bought that stuff, and it's amazing. The only thing is that it's Herbal Essences and that stuff gets expensive if you have a lot of hair. It's at Walmart, so it shouldn't be too hard to find, either.
I use Pantene... but not the regular kind. It's for African-American women who have hair that is textured, but it works well on other types of hair too. It's in a bronze-colored bottle, and it says somewhere on the front ';for women of color';.

What Shampoo/Conditioner Brand do you use?

Hi, this is for a school project, I need to find out what the most popular shampoo/conditioner brand is and if it tests on animals. Thanks! What Shampoo/Conditioner Brand do you use?
I buy my shampoo from Lush, and they never test on animals, they've got lovely organic and natural products that last for ages! What Shampoo/Conditioner Brand do you use?
I think the hair care brands from P %26amp; G that are tested on animals, are the most popular, such as Pantene, Head %26amp; Shoulders, Herbal Essenses, Aussie, Wash %26amp; Go, Infusium 23 and etc.

Also Loreal (Elseve, Garnier, Redken and etc), Unilever (Dove, Sunsilk, Suave and etc) and Palmolive are tested on animals.

    Yes, all of them do!

    P. S. Too many are tested on animals, so it's hard to shop hair care products!
Whole Foods house brand 365 Shampoo, Nature's Gate and/or Nexxus Conditioner, all cruelty-free.

I boycott all P%26amp;G, Johnson%26amp;Johnson, Unilever, other big industry products because of animal testing.
I use pureology shampoo and conditioner!

idk if its tested on animals!

    =)
I use Mark Anthony or Charles Worthington.
i use frederic fekkai with shea butter. i dont know if its tested on animals but it probably is.

my hair is not curly or frizzy.

its wavy but i just simply have lots and lots of hair

but i hate all those extra volume shampoos

is there something opposite to that?I have thick hair is there any shampoo that doesnt make my hair any thicker?
theres no shampoo to thinning ur hair but wat u can do is to get a hair cut that makes ur hair look less thick and feels thinnnerI have thick hair is there any shampoo that doesnt make my hair any thicker?
There are no shampoos to make your hair thinner. But be grateful that you have thick hair. You wouldn't want thin hair, trust me. You can try Bed Head Control Freak, it should get rid of some of that frizziness. + You can go to a local salon and ask for layers. Good luck!
they should make that you can only really try sleek hair wash and than put on heat spray and flat iron it till u cant any longer lol

How do you find what PH a shampoo and conditioner have?

Either listed on the bottle if it has it. Or go to a beauty supply store to ask for shampoo and conditoner with Ph in it.How do you find what PH a shampoo and conditioner have?
PH means the Ph value ie: it shows acidic or alkakine.

Shampoo etc. are not PH neutral. Saop is alkaline, but shampoo is less alkaline. Water Ph value is zero (neutral). This we can test and see by using litmus paper.. Normally soaps ans shampoo does not written its ph value on its container.

(You can make herba shampoo it is Ph neytral)

What's the best Hair Loss Treatment Shampoo for me?

I'm 22. My hair line is gradually receding. I get really bad dandruff in the fall/winter, and an extremely oily scalp in the spring/summer (possibly DHT build-up). My hair doesn't grow like it used to. What's a good DHT inhibitor and regrowth shampoo? What's the best Hair Loss Treatment Shampoo for me?
hair loss can be caused by many different reasons! Find out the actual cause of hair loss! There are many causes of loss of hair such as stress, poor nutrition ,medications, thyroid dysfunctions, illness, fungal infections ,hormonal problems, to mention a few. but anyway you can always try and get real results.

year ago I suffered from hair loss and since hair loss is hereditary my dad suffered from it too and I started trying everything you can imagine to stop my hair loss. the things that really worked for me was:

    1) Vitamin A - an anti-oxidant which promotes healthy production of sebum in the scalp;

    2) Vitamin E stimulates circulation. Good blood circulation in the scalp is important in keeping hair follicles productive. The 'B' vitamins contribute to melanin, which gives hair its healthy color and also stimulates blood circulation;

    3) massage is also beneficial. Massage stimulates circulation. As already noted, good circulation in the scalp keeps hair follicles active. Experts suggest a few minutes of daily head massage by hand. Circulation through massage may be improved by using a few drops of lavender or bay essential oil in an almond or sesame oil base with massage;

    4) Try rubbing your scalp with garlic juice, Onion Juice or Ginger Juice(you can either of one out of three, Do not mix any of two or three);

    5) also you should use some herbal treatment.in that case Provillus is a good product that helps prevent hair loss and it is an FDA approved product. I think it is very important!

It worked and still works for me!

I do not know if any pharmacies carry Provillus but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here http://www.provillus.com/?aid=749165

    good luck!

not only my and my wife`s own personal experienceWhat's the best Hair Loss Treatment Shampoo for me?
Hair isn't alive and it doesn't grow. Hair is an accumulation of a protein called keratin inside the follicle. As it builds up on the bottom it is pushed out the top, creating ';hair growth';. This is a biological process so nothing that you do to your hair, like using some ';special'; shampoo or treatment can help. Eat a healthy, protein rich diet and take a regular multivitamin daily. What you put on the outside of your scalp and your existing hair cannot help buildup on the inside of the follicle!
the only product i know of is Nioxin. i took a class on it once a few years ago. i'm not sure if there are more products like it on the market now. anyway, that cleanser is specifically formulated to help remove DHT buildup and promote a healthy scalp. they also have a conditioner/scalp treatment for after the cleanser/shampoo. if it is, in fact, a buildup of DHT then Nioxin should help. they did tell us that sometimes the buildup is so great that their product can't break it down so hopefully this isn't the case for you. at any rate, using it will do no harm and actually help maintain a healthy scalp and future hair growth.

i'm sure you could find more information on their website.
I started losing hair around your age and i have wasted alot of money on all these products which only work on a very small percentage of people. So be very careful on what you buy. There is the option of hair transplant surgery which is the best treatment but costs 1000`s.

I suggest you do your research and go for something natural like Saw Palmetto, its inexpensive and is proven to work on most people that use it.
hair loss cannot be prevented for the external application , they only condition hair and hair shafts, thus making them shiner , stronger. the real hair loss solution has to be done from the inside of the body.

What's the best way to use shampoo and conditioner? like, how do you use it, and how much?

    =] thanks in advance

i'll add more details if u need themWhat's the best way to use shampoo and conditioner? like, how do you use it, and how much?
It's best to use two separate products (not the shampoo/conditioner in one). After shampooing your hair and rinsing really well, apply the conditioner to your hair. Do not massage into your scalp, as you would a shampoo. But start from the top and go down to your ends. It's best to leave it on for a few minutes before rinsing. So I usually shave my legs, pumice my feet, whatever...before rinsing out. Again, rinse really well. What's the best way to use shampoo and conditioner? like, how do you use it, and how much?
If you have thick hair then only wash is 2-3 times a week, but thinner hair needs to be washed more frequently. Pantene pro-v is really good for me, or L'oriel (however you spell it) is good too. You squirt a cherry sized amount of shampoo onto your hand and rub your hands together then massage it all over your head (make sure you get all your hair) then rinse it off. Put a smaller amount of conditioner on your hands, rub them together and apply it to the tips of your hair. (If you put it on the roots, it makes your hair greasier quickly and weighs it down) make sure you rinse all of the conditioner off.
I never do what they say to do. My shampoo says to use it twice during the same shower. I only shampoo it once, and I use the bare minimum needed to get a good lather; anything more will just go down the drain. When I condition, I use a drop maybe the size of a quarter, squish my fingertips in it so they're coated with condiitoner, and then work my fingers through my hair (which is fairly short).

The instructions say to wait 3 minutes. I don't bother. I'm not going to waste water running the shower while I wait, but I'm not going to turn it off and freeze while I wait. So when my hair feels sleek and detangled, I rinse off the conditioner, and I'm done.

I shampooed every day when I was smoking. But since I quit, I do it twice a week. My hair is neither really dry nor really oily, so it works out for me.

I have like a 5 year supply of conditioner because every time I color my hair, there's another BIG tube of conditioner inside.
pantene is really good. shampoo all ur hair and rinse. when u use conditioner, u start with the ends and work ur way up, u don't need alot on top of ur head. all that does is weigh ur hair down. and don't wash ur hair everyday if u have long hair.

I have tried some ofthe most expensive shampoos and cinditioners over the years , but nothing works as well as Dove .I think it's the best product out on the market not to mention very affordable...I advertize it so much that I beleicve the compony should send me some free samples. It's very gentle but also verry affective.Try it and let me know!Does anybody had experience with good shampoo?
yes! definitely, i have the same problem, and my friend got me this really good one, its called Giovanni Cosmetics and they use some kind of tree gum to make it, all natural and organic and some are for oily hair, i think you can find it in SASA or hte Body Shop? heres the site for it:

    http://www.giovannicosmetics.com/
Don't worry too much about your hair falling out. It does that naturally every year and the older you get, the more hair will fall out. The hair falling out should not be so much that it is notable to people who see you frequently. So if a friend asks if you are going bald, then you have a problem. When mine first started falling out it came out in huge clumps for about a month and then only a few strands a day after that. A lot of the hair that falls out grows back. As for shampoo, you can't beat Infusium 23. The best shampoo I have ever used on a regular persons budget. I'm sure Jennifer Lopez has a better one but I am also sure it cost $400 a bottle. Try it-you will be impressed.
Your hair falling out has more to do with your genetics than it does your shampoo. You can try using Propecia or Avacor or any prescription hair loss medicine. If it's to oily try using soap instead of shampoo on your head. Good luck.
You should really try Ren茅 Furterer's range. It's natural and it works. It's quite a special hairphilosophy that all starts with the health of your scalp. Yep, hair needs good soil to grow on too. R.F. has products for oily scalp which you can combine with special treatments against hair loss. However miracles don't come in bottles alone. You can go and see a dermatologist to have a correct diagnosis of your hair loss. It might be due to a lack of vitamins, stress, a skin affection or genetic reasons.

Last but not least: cheap shampoos are full of synthetics which isn't great for your delicate hair. But don't be fooled by extremely expensive products either, they usually are overpromising.

    Good luck!

  • Is there something I can use to bathe my dog other than dog shampoo?

use only dog or puppy shampoo

dogs have different PH levels than humans and their skin is different, reacts differently to different chemicals

hollyyIs there something I can use to bathe my dog other than dog shampoo?
No, dog shampoo is the safest product to use for your dog's skin/coat. Human products is made for people %26amp; dishwashing detergent is made for dishes. Either of which is formulated or correct ph for a dog skin %26amp; is too drying. Pet shampoo is easily found %26amp; inexpensive %26amp; less costly than paying a vet bill b/c you caused your dog to scratch or break out in hives.

Btw- human tearless products are not tearless on animals. Is there something I can use to bathe my dog other than dog shampoo?
i have always used baby shampoo and that way it wont hurt if it gets in there eyes

and i use regular conditioner but only on his legs and body

thats not necessary but it just makes him feel softer
I have always used baby shampoo on my dog. It makes them smell better than dog shampoo and it is sensitive on their skin.
    Johnson's Baby Shampoo

Just as Jay mentioned i used to use Baby shampoo as well. Its gentler on their skin. Plus it smells nice :)
A vet assistant told me that Dawn dish washing liquid is best. It keeps fleas at bay, and is good on their coat.

Shampoo that helps heal from breakage?

I tease my hair everyday and my hair has been falling out.

I stopped teasing but my hair keeps falling out.

What shampoo works best for breakage?Shampoo that helps heal from breakage?
Got2be Hottie is a really good shampoo/conditioner that helps with breakage. It would be with the other g2b products but its in a blue teardrop-like bottle with a red top and the conditioner (amazing!) is a blue like lotion tube looking thing with a red bottom. It says hottie on the bottle so if that confused you lol. They also have a leave in conditioner and other products in the g2b hottie series. Hope I helped!!Shampoo that helps heal from breakage?
Joico Kpax is a good shampoo for strengthening and repairing. But one of the best things that you can do is go to a salon and get a deep conditioning treatment. Report Abuse

I need a really good shampoo for ';woman of color'; and breakage?

When i was little i used to use creme of nature. I cut my hair in 6th grade and now i am trying to get my hair growing. I have really bad breakage in the back of my hair. I am now using pantene for breakage and the moisturizer. i don't think that that is really working, can u please help me?I need a really good shampoo for ';woman of color'; and breakage?
I think Pantene has two lines for women of color? Or, maybe it's the same line, but I know they have the Relaxed and Natural line and the Women of Color line? To stop breakage make sure you're not doing anything damaging to your hair like using heat constantly because this can make your hair break off. Also, keep your hair well moisturized because dry hair can cause breakage. You'll find that many brands, like Dove, are for any hair type, so don't limit yourself to finding something that will work best for your hair. If your hair is breaking off then start deep conditioning with an anti-breakage deep conditioner to help repair your hair. Deep conditioner at least once a week or twice a month because this will make your hair stronger. When you wash make sure you always use a leave-in conditioner to help strengthen your hair.

Does Redeken get the job done?Just purchased Redeken Color Extend shampoo, will that help damaged thin hair that needs color treatment?
Let me tell you that Redkin's All Soft has helped my hair so much! I love it. I have been used so many different shampoos and love this All Soft. However, I would also recommend Pureology. That's an awesome shampoo. A little pricey but wow will you feel it! Hope that helped! You should also get a leave- in conditioner.Just purchased Redeken Color Extend shampoo, will that help damaged thin hair that needs color treatment?
redken color extend is actully to make your hair color last long, thus is a very gental shampoo. most redken products will help with that but if your looking for damge repair i suggest a moistuiser and a reconstrutor. i prefer the joice kpak line, but i do know that redkens butter treatment is very good.

  • If I am about to use henna in my hair, should I shampoo AND condition it before?

Some sites say you should only condition your hair or only shampoo it before you put henna in it. I'm wondering which is true, or which would make the henna work betterIf I am about to use henna in my hair, should I shampoo AND condition it before?
No actually you do not have to shampoo and condition your hair beforehand but your hair should be clean and not have any oily build up. If your hair texture is more on the drier side then you should add conditioner or hair oil to your henna mixture/recipe for sure as to not dry your hair out as herbal treatments can be drying at times on different hair textures.

It is known that henna is actually easier to apply onto DAMP hair (like towel dried). It is so much easier adn much less messy! So try that.

The above tips should make your henna application much easier. Make sure you use body art quality henna powder as it is the purest henna out there with no additives nor metallic salts. Hope this helps! I've been natural hair care for at least 10 yrs.If I am about to use henna in my hair, should I shampoo AND condition it before?
you're welcome and thanks too! Report Abuse

don't use henna at all! its very damaging!
I agree. Once you use henna on your hair you may not be able to change the color with regular hair dye. Some hennas are metallic dyes, when you mix them with dye, you could burn off your hair. Something to think about.
Henna is a safe and natural dye. The only time you will have problems is when you use an impure henna product.

You want to start putting the henna on your hair when it is fairly clean, but dry.

YOu smush it in and let it sit for several hours and then wash out.http://www.hennacaravan.com/forums/viewt鈥?/a>

Hair professionals: What shampoo would you reccomend?

I have highlighted light blonde (originally sandy blonde) hair. It's about down to my chest, and it's really wavy. Usually a little frizzy. It's not that thick, but it'snot that thin either...Hair professionals: What shampoo would you reccomend?
Purology Hydration (purple bottle) shamp and cond

It so to hair as mac is to make-up

Just the best, nothing else comes close in quality or performance. Plus its vegan friendly. And sulfite free which means color fading is kept to the barest minimum. Its not cheap but so concentrated that it last forever. I have yet to find a head of hair that requires more then a quarter sized ammount.Hair professionals: What shampoo would you reccomend?
Hi, Cause you have highlights and your hair is light blonde I would use Shimmer Lights shampoo and conditioner is by Clairol for highlighted and light blonde tinted hair this is some great product this will keep those highlights looking like you just got them done. You can get this product at Sally's Beauty supply stores.
In all honesty, i have tried many salon shampoos, and i have actually become happy with a supermarket shampoo. Garnier Fructas is great, i use the 1 minute treatment for conditioner. I find it very very moisturising. But if you are set on getting a salon shampoo, KMS is fantastic, also MOP is great too (also organic, so a little more expensive).
obviously a color care shampoo.... your going to get a diffrent answer depending on which professional you ask and what product line they use... i went to paul mitchell the school so i would reccomend paul mitchel color protect.. for frizz i would reccomend paul mitchell gloss drops or super skinny serum..

purology used to be good (made in small amounts... using prime ingrredients) but they sold out to l'oreal.. so i dont really trust it any more...

ive also enjoyed a products by colure.. kind of expensive but well worth it.. sulphite free..
    I would reccomend S-factor.

no no no!!!! you NEED selsun blue!! my dermatologist used to precribe me that before it was FDA approved and it works!!! promise, i had a bad case and now mine is almost gone!!! but use the shampoo and conditioner in seperate bottles not the combo!! also, my doc told me to make sure that i am rinsing the shampoo all the way out of my hair, bc that will add to the problems!! and selsun blue conditioner is very high in vitamins and minerals that ur hair needs and it will also leave u hair silky smoothe!!! good luckWhats the best shampoo%26amp;conditioner to use to get rid of dandruff?
I am sorry to say I am a professional on this topic -- You need something with cold tar in it -- forget head and shoulder and selson blue -- denerex is the way to go or thera??? with cold tar (it maybe cool tar) in works and it is pricey (at least $7.50 or more) but it will work and you will not have to use it more than 1 or twice a week (after first 5-7 consectutive days) to maintain dandruff free (of course use another shampoo the other days)Whats the best shampoo%26amp;conditioner to use to get rid of dandruff?

head and shoulders... from what I've heard
I used Head and Shoulders and it helped a lot use it for 3 days. You need the shampoo and contioner of else it won't work. Hope this helps.
redken has a new dandruff shampoo and conditioner- its good. also some times a hairspray will build up in your hair making it look like dandruff--to remove a hairspray buildup mix baking soda and water it doesn't matter how much of each, pour it on your head, comb it through --takes buildup out immediately--does it better than any professional product that i have seen and it doesn't hurt the hair any --it has the same ph as water--good luck
First of all head and shoulders is the worst dandruff shampoo you can use. It works yes, but is VERY harsh to hair. I have recently had a bad spout of dandruff and tried nuetrogena t-gel. It guaranteed to rid of most of the dandruff on the first shampoo and it did!!! If you are looking for a more natural way try tea tree oil. It is at any pharmacy and works for dandruff and lice etc.
I'm not sure which conditioner but I use L'Oreal Elvive Elvive anti-dandruff shampoo if my scalp is itchy or if I get dandruff. When I use it my scalp feels better after 1 wash. You can get it for either greasy or dry hair.
Dermarrest and Nizoral are good also
    head and shoulders
The Neutrogenas says my husbands doc. My friend says any shampo with the zinc ingredient.
Neutrogena T-Sal worked for me. I used Head and Shoulders and was not that effective as Neutrogena
Well, I'm a white girl with brownish hair and I use Neutrogena T-Gel or T-Sal (the unscented version).

My bf is Mexican and he swears by Selsun Blue and says his whole family does, too. Something about his thick, dark hair makes other products less effective but the Selsun Blue always works. Go figure!
    head and shoulders

You need oral treatment and not external. Any shampoo you use will not help for hair fall. You will lose your hair as well as money also. Every thing is very good in advertisements for which we pay. There are good herbal products to be taken which helps in preventing hair fall, grow hair and prevent premature greying. If the hair fall is due to hereditary, then no one will be able to help. You can also consult a good homoeopath who will treat you constitutionally.Tell me the name of any good ayurvedic herbal shampoo which should not cause any damage 2 hairs?
There is no such shampoo. Even though some brands advertise about the herbal content of the shampoo, I really doubt it.

The best thing is to see Ayurvedic doctor.
Hi, Try Kz Lotion (Ketoconazole Lotion 2%) by H %26amp; H Pharmaceutica Pvt Ltd, 106, Doctor House, Deshmukh Marg, Mumbai - 400026.

Though its called lotion, its actually a shampoo. Its good and will not lather out like other shampoos. This lotion can be used even for dandruf. I had a heavy hair fall, using this lotion (prescribed by my dermatogist), hair fall is under better control. Dont panic initially if ur hair fall increases, thats because of the change in shampoos.

Its little expensive Rs.125 for 50ml. Its not easily available in pharmacy.
I don't know if you can get Himalaya range of ayurvedic products from india in your country.

check their products on the net. They are really good!

What kind of shampoo should i use to make my hair soft?

Dove! What kind of shampoo should i use to make my hair soft?
be sure to use a good conditioner and deep condition once or twice a week.

    i would reccoment:

Pantene Ice shineWhat kind of shampoo should i use to make my hair soft?
dove makes an AMAZING moisturizing shampoo. i think its just called Dove Moisturizing lol. but its really nice, all of doves products are
Aussie Mega or Moist Shampoo %26amp; Aussie 3 Minute Miracle
i use the redken ';all soft'; range, i'm no specialist or anything, but it made my hair soft, i love the stuff!
Try Redken ';All Soft'; shampoo and Conditioner. You can get it at a salon or Trade Secrets at your local mall.

I am a hairstylist and I swear by it!
    Tresemme Soft and Silky.
I find that sunsilk is really good and it 's cheap.
    pantene
Garnier Fructis. Get the one that works for your hair, there are lots. Use the Leave-In conditioner and Frizz Serums to make it even softer, just don't overdo it or you'll end up with greasy roots.
It depends on the type of hair you have. if you have couse and rough hair you should use Enjoy Luxury Shampoo and Conditioner. If your hair is damaged get Enjoy IRS spray with The Mask. It is so good for your hair. I would def. not say pantene that is one of the worst ones you can buy. Yes prof. lines are more expensive but it's for a reason they repair your hair not just coat it.
you cann use any shampo jsut be sure that your use a really good moisturizing conditioner. i recommend treseme. ($3-$4 any store/drugstore).

i also heard that dove works well.

but whatever you do DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT use pantene or garnier. especially pantene. it has bad chemicasls in them that damage hair, make it fall out, and it can lead to the thinning of hair and frizz and/or dandruff.

    good luck!
do not use pantene it coats the hair that is why it seems shiney. if you're going to use a department store brand shampoo use tresemme it's the best.
I use Bath %26amp; Body Works shampoo and conditioner and together they make my hair soft, shiny, and moisturized. They are the best!
conditioner use biolage from salons or thermasilk but salons have alot of good products for soft hair
    Pantene
Pantene, particularly the ice shine, seems to work well for me.

This is a very interesting question what kinda science project are you doing???I need to know for a science question. What shampoo do you recomend for blonde, thick, hair?
    head and sholders
That ';Beautiful Blonde'; hair line from Frieda. It's awesome!

Is there a shampoo that they sell in Tesco which makes hair curly?

I doubt a shampoo will make much difference to a style.

I would suggest a spray... and ';scrunch'; hair when drying.

However John Frieda does a range for straight and curly hair. Shampoo and sprays. Is there a shampoo that they sell in Tesco which makes hair curly?
    Yess.. Its called.. Str8-B-Gone.

    Joke.

    No.

there isnt.Is there a shampoo that they sell in Tesco which makes hair curly?
never heard of one. us straight haired people would be all over that.

Is there any shampoo/conditioner that makes hair straight? and what about straight perming?

Can anybody tell me if there is areally good shampoo/conditioner avilable at stores that makes hair straight/ I have a very dry and frizzy hair and I hate it. and also I am thinking about for hair perming. Does that work well? if so, for how long does that last? and what is the charges for that? I really need some good advice. I'll be thankful for all of your's answer. Is there any shampoo/conditioner that makes hair straight? and what about straight perming?
I think you might as well use an iron for straight hair. I have natural straight hair and still I use that for some reason. Is there any shampoo/conditioner that makes hair straight? and what about straight perming?
ive hunted and hunted for shampoos/conditions that will make your hair do what you want, but i havent had any luck. ive used citre shine for frizz problems, its worked pretty well. also you can try a hair renewal spray, that helps with some control of hair. as far as straigtening goes its best if you just use a flat iron.
Try Matrix Sleek and Shine (Orange Bottle) you can get at your local beauty shop!!! It works wonders on my hair and it's just like yours. OR go the inexpensive way and get Suave Sleek and Shine (Wal-mart or any dept. store) It's also in a Orange bottle. You might want to get some anti-friz lotion and both lines as i mentioned above also have a cream that helps!!! Good Luck!
You can get your hair straightened but it will cost you. The first time it is 500 and then every 3 weeks you have to put chemicals on it.
I've been using a product by Loreal VIVE called Smooth Intense. There are a few products in the line but I mainly use the shampoo and conditioner. The bottle says it is for Dry, Coarse, Rebellious hair. It's in an orange bottle. Can't hurt to try and it is quite inexpensive.
Yeah there is but I forget what is is called??

But it works really good! My friend just used it like.......two days ago and her hair is really stright. It has a few waves but its stright and she LOVES it LOL! But yeah there is on that you can use to strightin your hair.
I have curly curly hair. I have tried every straightner i could find. The only straightner other then a flat iron that i found that works is the chi straighting treatments. Its a long process but it really works. I dont have to worry about blow drying my hair after a shower. They also have their own line of shampo's and conditioner's if you want to try it
I have the same problem as you.. Straightening totally works, IF you go to the right salon and the right person with the right tools.. they cant be using just a regular loose feeling straightening iron.. The iron that was used on me was imported(from japan) and costs hundreds of dollars and you can feel the difference.. its much more tighter and pulls on your hair a little more.. They told me it would last six months, but if done right it can last up to a year.(it did for me) And the best thing about it was, I never once blew dried my hair after a shower, and it comes out picture perfect...

If you get a good one it costs about $400(depends on your hair length) and takes up to 6-8 hours.. but if you get the cheap one its about $100-$150 and takes about 2 hours (totally not worth it, ive gotten it)

    i hope that helps some..
