i used a variety of shampoos, like pantene, st.ives, etc. but none of them seem to remedy the split ends situation can u please give me an advice as to what shampoo works best??What is the best shampoo for split hair?
My oldest daughter had issues with split ends so I had to learn a lot.
Sometimes it's not a matter of shampoo but other factors. Are you using a good conditioner as well as a follow-up?
Also, if you don't let your hair air-dry naturally and resort to using a hair dryer, you will be damaging all of your hair, not just the ends, but you'll see the ends suffer quicker; when I have to dry my daughters' hair, I use a dryer with a double ionizer.
There are also a number of good spray-in/comb-in conditioners which seem to help.
I have also learned that using a loose ponytail holder at night to keep it off one's neck is effective at minimizing tangles which lead to split ends; having it in a loop up off your neck keeps it from being tangled as you move during the night.
Finally, I pay attention to the types of brushes and hair accessories I get for my daughters. In particular I like the brushes that have the more rounded tips to the ';bristles'; which are spaced out widely but somewhat sturdy.
Also, for ponytail holders I only buy the ';ouchless'; kind that do not have the metal clips binding the loop together. The metal clips tend to get caught in the hair creating snags and damage which leads to splitting.
In summertime, if you're swimming much, it's essential to have a good ';swim'; shampoo/conditioner combo that removes chlorine and other chemicals and restores natural balance to your hair.
Oh, and also, next time you get your hair cut, talk to your stylist; she might be able to recommend something different to help, either a slightly different cut, or additional products that are helpful. What is the best shampoo for split hair?
Try Finesse.
I have or had dry hair with split ends and thought I was going to have to chop it off, but I started getting Infusium (23) and it's worked great for me. I get the extra moisture and damaged/unmanageable hair type kinds. Also the leave-in treatments. It doesn't take much either to make a nice lather so it lasts longer than some. My hair is to my waist and it only takes a dime size ammount.
There is nothing you can do to remedy split ends. The only thing you can do to fix them is cut them off. Use a professional shampoo to maintain your hair healthy and don't brush your hair when it is wet. Use a wide tooth comb.
even though I don't have flaky scalp, head and shoulders for dry hair has worked very well for me. it improved my hair greatly, looks just like the model's hair in the commercial. but trim all your split ends first.
your hair is dry and you need to use a mild shampoo and follow it up with a conditioner. try using Kerastase products they are great! probably the best thing you can do to eliminate those split ends is to trim your hair for about an inch.
vidal sassoon or try GLISS
Head %26amp; shoulders
Try KeraCare or or Paul Mitchell for color treated/damaged hair
When i had long hair i used the Garnier Frutis, long and beautiful because i was getting SOOO many split ends, and it made my hair...well..long and beautiful!!! i also find that dove and thermasilk work. Try and get two different kinds of shampoo that work for you and then switch off between the two of them because if you stay with just one your hair will sometimes get used to it and stop responding to the treatment in the shampoo. Also, get the same brand of conditioner...it does make a difference for ht emost part! Before changing shampoos you should also cut off the ends because most shampoos can't cure split ends but they can PREVENT them.
Shampoo does not help split hair. Hot oil does. I'd tell you which type but that would be splitting hairs!
First you need to identify what you are doing to your hair to cause the splitting. Are you flat-ironing to much, blow-drying, chemicals? And then you need to get a good haircut. A shampoo and conditioner will not fuse ends that are already damaged; they need to be cut off. Last, it might be a good idea to try salon products! Products like Panteen and Finesse are full of harsh cleansers comparative to dish soap. Infact, for clients who have called because they have colored their own hair and it is ';to dark'; I reccomend a few good shampoos with drug store brands!
If it is a cost issue, try Matrix (Biolage) Hydrating shampoo and Conditioning Balm. If you are overstyling, make sure you use a thermal protective product. Redkin makes a thermal protective gel that's wonderful. Their Extreme line is designed for severely damaged hair, and has both a shampoo and conditioner. If you are flat-ironing, or using a curling iron, a little Biosilk oil on the ends will help protect your ends before you hit them with the iron!
