Is it ok to wash my puppy with lice shampoo to get rid of fleas?

Dawn dish soap will do as well.

Just checked my 2-in-1 flea and tick shampoo for dogs; the active ingredients in it are as follows:

pyrethrins - .045%

piperonyl butoxide technical - .089%

N-octyl bicycloheptene dicarboximide - .0149%

If your lice shampoo is comparable to that it should be OK

Otherwise just bathing with the dish soap and a good brushing should help a lot.

Wait 2-3 days then use topical drops like Frontline or Advantage. (these require skin oils to distribute them and the bath you just gave, washed those all off)

Be sure to wash its' bedding and vacuum as well.Is it ok to wash my puppy with lice shampoo to get rid of fleas?
No. Get some Frontline. All you get with shampoo is clean fleas. Is it ok to wash my puppy with lice shampoo to get rid of fleas?
You shouldn't use lice shampoo. Just go to a pet store and buy some advantage or something.
yes that would be a great idea it would help you cuz i have a puppy too and he had lice and i bought a flea shampoo for dogs you have to get it on petsmart. bye bye nena
lice shampoo is very irritable to the eyes. Never use any kind of soap near a dogs ears or eyes, wash these area with a damp cloth. Fleas can be controlled by many over and under the counter medications. The best ones are the ones that are taken by mouth. As they are only given when recommended. Flea collars could be dangerous if the dog happens to find a way to get the collar off and chew it. It also hinders using leashes on your pets.
NO because your pet does not have lice it has fleas so just by washing it witt that you won't be killing the fleas. SEcond of all that is a good way of not let your pet get lice.
Flea shampoo does not cost very much, please go get the appropriate shampoo for your puppy.
I wouldn't. I would get something from the vet for her!
Fleas are not the same as lice. Please go to your local pet store and buy flea shampoo to wash your dog. Don't forget to wear plastic gloves!
Of course it's not.. Get the right stuff to do the job properly.. Quit being cheap.. It will only make things worse..

Fleas aren't lice... Come on, use your commonsense..
Get flea shampoo and consider putting her on preventative flea medication (like Advantix). You can get it through a vet, it's probably about $50 for a 6 month supply. But it is cheaper than getting your house fumigated, because those fleas will get into your furniture, etc.
It might dry out their skin so I wouldn't recommend it.

Try using Dawn dish washing soap (the one with no bleach in it). I used to work for a groomer and she told me that way back in the day before flea shampoos were invented, all groomers used Dawn. It cleans them, gets rid of fleas, and is gentle on the skin.

If you watch Dawn commercials they even advertise that it's safe for animals!
