When they say ';thickening'; shampoo it won't actually thicken your hair per se. Rather it will give your hair more volume giving the illusion that your hair is thicker. And, yes, it is pretty much a marketing ploy to get you to buy their product. Everything these days is a money making business and they'll say or promise anything to make you buy it. If I were you, I wouldn't pay the $20 for it. There is nothing that will make hair thicker. Having thick or thin hair is genetic. It runs in your family. You could try a cheaper ';volumizing'; shampoo and volumizing conditioner for much less. You could also try the old fashioned ';teasing'; your hair, but be careful because it tends to tangle your hair. Just don't over-tease. You could also use some big hot rollers and go to sleep on it. When you wake up, brush your hair out and it gives your hair more lift and volume giving the illusion that you have thick hair. Hope that helps, and good luck!Will a thickening shampoo do anything?
